Tangshan Caofeidian LNG Terminal

Located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, the Caofeidian LNG Terminal is one of our  largest LNG import and regasification bases in northern China. Developed and operated by PetroChina, the terminal plays a crucial role in securing natural gas supply for the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, one of the most densely populated and industrialized areas in the country.

The terminal’s facilities include a deep-water jetty for large LNG carriers, several massive cryogenic storage tanks, and high-capacity regasification systems with a design throughput of 6 million tonnes per year. Gas from the terminal is fed directly into the national pipeline grid, ensuring stable energy delivery for both residential and industrial consumers.

Caofeidian LNG Terminal is part of the broader Caofeidian Industrial Zone, a major integrated petrochemical and energy base on China’s northern coast. The terminal enhances energy diversification, improves air quality by replacing coal with gas, and strengthens China’s overall energy security.

With ongoing expansion projects and smart management systems, the facility is set to become a multi-functional energy hub integrating LNG receiving, storage, processing, and distribution—supporting the region’s clean energy transformation and economic resilience.
