Shanghai LNG Terminal

Our Shanghai LNG Terminal, located at Yangshan Deep-Water Port, serves as a cornerstone of the Yangtze River Delta’s energy infrastructure. Jointly operated by Shenergy Group and CNOOC, the terminal was developed to meet Shanghai’s growing demand for clean energy and to support China’s strategy of diversifying its energy imports.

The terminal features a 266,000 m³-class berth, several high-capacity LNG storage tanks, and regasification facilities capable of handling more than 6 million tonnes per year. Connected to the regional gas pipeline network, it supplies power plants, industrial parks, and households across Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces.

Shanghai LNG Terminal emphasizes safety, automation, and sustainability. It utilizes advanced cryogenic technologies and digital control systems to ensure operational excellence. Environmental initiatives such as waste heat recovery and low-emission operations contribute to the city’s low-carbon development goals.

As an energy gateway for one of China’s largest metropolitan regions, the Shanghai LNG Terminal plays a pivotal role in supporting regional energy security, economic growth, and the city’s ambitious plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
